The project included design and construction of nearly 20km of highway plus interchanges, road bridges and footbridges for the central section of the link, a freeway between the Reid  Highway and Ellenbrook in Perth. This should provide a safer and more efficient link to the important north-eastern metropolitan centre. Construction work on Stage Two started in late 2016 and finished in mid-2019.

LLWA was the main subcontractor for all Construction Material Testing on site during the project. Technicians were on site daily completing Field testing with samples being transported back to our base laboratory for further testing.

Over 4000 samples were tested at our base lab over the period of the project including:

• Moisture Content
• California Bearing Ratio
• Particle Size Distribution
• Perth Sand Penetrometer
• Texture Depth
• Ball Embedment
• Maximum Dry Density – Standard and Modified
