This project proposes to address future ground transportation needs within the Airport Central Precinct. This need is based on forecast demand for vehicle access to the terminals and proximate to terminal parking and passenger pick-up and drop off activity. Providing sufficient capacity for all Ground Transport modes is critical to ensure customer expectations are met, continuity of airline operational performance, as well as meeting Perth Airports commercial objectives. The total construction cost for the Overall Ground Transport Consolidated Precinct is estimated to be between $300-$400 million.
LLWA provided service locating, Traffic Management, Pavement Pitting and Laboratory testing Services for Geotechnical Investigation along at Perth Airport.
Pavement Pitting included coring and or sawcut through existing pavement and
excavating to 1.2m below pavement or ground level with 450mm
mechanical auger. Soil Samples were also taken from each pit to determine:
- Layer Thickness
- Core Density
- Soil Classifications
- Soil Gradings
- Moisture Contents
